the paperwork continues

PS I find it amazing how much paperwork is involved getting my mother her money. Also how true the saying, "the right hand doesn't know what the left has is doing" is the understatement with the VA and DFAS. I faxed and snail mailed more forms yesterday. I won't hold my breathe as to how long or if what I sent was even right. Social security is much easier than the military. OF course Mom has no clue about any of this her world is simple and safe. I do take comfort in knowing that she is wrapped in a world that has no concerns. I am attempting to be comforted knowing I am keeping my promise to take care of her that I made Daddy.Hope you in Blogland are having a good 2012 so far.God Bless.

  1. I have been told that because of financial & personnel cuts everything is taking longer and papers are getting lost.
I said once on my caregiver blog that I was prepared for them to die, but not for them to live..
I am on antidepressants, but lately I am feeling like I cannot provide them with the care they need.

    2. Good morning, I just rad your Jan '12 entries. Is it safe to assume your parents are NOT in nursing homes but still on their own? No wonder you are exhausted. If you have your mother's POA you can sign everything for her, except military papers for that you must become her fudiciary agent. Which is even more paperwork but the VA assigns a rep and he or she helps with the pile you need to sign.I would be glad to talk to you, sometimes, at least for me just talking to someone who has walked down the same path helps. my e-mail address is butrflyjewels@gmail.com ...God Bless, Jewels
